The Joint SDG Fund is seen by the Secretary-General as an essential part of the United Nations Development System reform. Referred to as the “muscle” for Resident Coordinators and United Nations Country Teams, the Secretary-General is counting on Member States to financially incentivize a scaled-up response to the Sustainable Development Goals at country level by promoting a whole of government approach and by supporting collaboration amongst UN agencies and other development partners.
