Transforming Food Systems: Bolivia and Ethiopia

Bolivia

The Joint SDG Fund is working to improve productivity, food security, and climate resilience for farmers in vulnerable communities in Bolivia. This joint programme focuses on enhancing agrobiodiversity, aligning supply with demand, and stimulating both local and global consumer demand.

The joint programme is committed to boosting agrobiodiversity, opening new markets, developing productive programmes, preventing malnutrition, and recovering ancestral knowledge. These efforts are designed to strengthen agricultural practices, support sustainable food systems, and ensure that farmers can thrive despite environmental and economic challenges.

Ethiopia

The Joint SDG Fund is connecting smallholder farmers in Ethiopia with markets and distribution networks to bolster agribusiness through capacity building, training, and financial linkages. This joint programme focuses on empowering marginalized groups and fostering climate-smart solutions, such as water-efficient technologies, sustainable land management, and innovative partnerships.

The joint programme enhances climate resilience, improves livelihoods, and strengthens market linkages, promoting greater self-sufficiency and reducing aid dependency. These efforts aim to build a more resilient and sustainable agricultural sector, supporting farmers in overcoming environmental and economic challenges.
