Our mission

The UN Joint SDG Fund aims to support the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030. Serving as a critical financing mechanism that drives transformative development programmes by pooling resources to ensures all initiatives reflect national priorities while delivering global impact.

The Joint SDG Fund’s approach is rooted in collaboration, empowering Resident Coordinators to work closely with UN Country Teams, governments, civil society, and other stakeholders to drive collective action. It emphasizes alignment, ensuring that initiatives are strategically designed to support national development priorities. To achieve leverage, the fund uses strategic investments to attract additional financing, amplifying its impact. Its catalytic impact accelerates development by deploying targeted investments that create lasting change. Guided by the principles of integration, scale, speed, and sustainability, the fund maximizes efficiency and effectiveness in advancing the Sustainable Development Goals.

Governance

The Strategic Advisory Group, chaired by the United Nations Deputy Secretary-General and Chair of the UNSDG, provides leadership and strategic direction to the Fund. The Strategic Advisory Group membership is comprised of representatives from fifteen Member States (rotational), and observers from the private sector and civil society.


Transparency

Committed to transparency, the fund ensures accountability through rigorous monitoring, public reporting, and open data on funding allocations and impact.

Governance
