Brief Description

The joint programme titled 'Acceleration of Just Energy Transition in Mongolia' aims to accelerate a just, green, and equitable energy transition in Mongolia by utilizing seed funding from the Joint SDG Fund, supporting the development of a National Just Energy Transition framework, mobilizing resources, and promoting gender equality while addressing climate change and energy equity.

Expected key results

  1. Development of a Just Energy Transition Framework aligned with new NDC 3.0, LT-LEDS and SDG7, 13, 5, and 12 for creating enabling environment (Ambition and inclusivity)
  2. Climate financing framework developed for Just Energy Transition (Acceleration)
  3. Just and inclusive energy transition (carbon neutrality, resilience, and circularity) roadmap in health and education sectors developed contributing to creation of a safe and healthy environment and improved essential services for all the children (1,360,055, nationwide) and the most vulnerable. (Ambition and Inclusivity).
