Brief Description

The joint programme titled 'Building foundations for decent jobs creation and inclusive social protection in Sénégal' aims to create an enabling environment for the acceleration of decent job creation and the expansion of inclusive social protection, coordinated by well-capacitated government entities with support from development and social partners through a consensual and inclusive roadmap.

The joint programme focuses on creating decent jobs and expanding inclusive social protection in Senegal, led by government entities with support from development partners. It involves a collaborative roadmap that enhances stakeholder capacities and provides evidence-based advice to inform policies. The programme directly engages at least 450 individuals, ensuring gender-sensitive representation, and strengthens the capacities of 60 key actors. It contributes to reducing inequalities and poverty while advancing Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 1 and SDG 8, through a comprehensive approach to employment and social protection.

Expected key results

  1. GA road map validated and built based on national dialogue
  2. Knowledge and capacities of national stakeholders have been strengthened with regards to social protection and decent jobs.
  3. Evidence-based advice has been provided to the Government, social partners and other key stakeholders to inform strategic and technical decisions regarding a system approach to universal social protection and inclusive, environment- and gender-responsive employment creation to facilitate just transitions
