Brief Description

The "Green and Renewable Energy Transition for Youth and Education" programme aims to equip youth and educational institutions in the Eastern Caribbean with renewable energy knowledge and practices to foster sustainable development and climate resilience.

The program focuses on empowering youth and educational institutions in the Eastern Caribbean to promote green and renewable energy practices. It engages approximately 3,500 individuals, including 1,500 women and 1,000 children, enhancing their knowledge and skills in sustainable energy, contributing to climate mitigation, and fostering awareness of the circular economy. The initiative supports multiple Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in quality education, affordable and clean energy, and climate action, ultimately building resilience and preparing the next generation for green jobs.

Expected key results

The results will inform an integrated policy response and actions to be implemented towards achieving climate resilience, inclusive spaces and through:

Output 1.1- Facilitate linkages between people, communities, policymakers and governments.

Output 1.2- Capacity development of people, communities, CSOs, CBOs, and youth groups to understand their role as rights holders and governments’ obligations.

Output 1.3 Joint programme management, monitoring and reporting, and communication
