Brief Description

The joint programme titled 'Green Futures, Brighter Beginnings: Localizing SDGs for Climate Resilience and Children's Rights in Serbian Municipalities' aims to transform Serbian municipalities into sustainable development leaders by enhancing local governance, promoting child rights, and improving climate resilience through innovative financing and capacity-building initiatives.

The program transforms Serbian municipalities into sustainable development leaders, focusing on children's rights and climate resilience. It enhances local governance and public financial management through innovative financing, ensuring communities are prepared for environmental challenges. The initiative localizes Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), supports Voluntary Local Reviews, and provides tailored capacity-building, resulting in increased local capacity and improved governance frameworks. The program reaches numerous municipalities, fostering healthy, inclusive communities and significantly contributing to climate resilience and the advancement of SDGs.

Expected key results

Partnership with National Academy for Public Administration to pilot specialized training module for local governments in 20 municipalities focusing on integrating climate change, green transition, and child rights within local governance frameworks, with the potential for widespread application across Serbia.
