Brief Description

The joint programme titled 'Integrated Approaches for Digital Health Transformation in Kazakhstan' aims to accelerate the digital transformation of the healthcare sector by creating a strategic vision, developing a favorable environment for digital health interventions, and leveraging investments to improve health outcomes for vulnerable populations.

The programme focuses on transforming Kazakhstan's healthcare sector through digitalization, aiming to create a National Digital Health Strategy, establish a coordinating Secretariat, and conduct an investment case to enhance digital health policy-making. It reaches approximately 280,711 healthcare professionals, including 190,000 women, and aims to improve health data analysis capacities among national partners. By fostering inclusive and effective digital health development, the programme significantly contributes to enhancing social protection for vulnerable populations and advancing Sustainable Development Goals related to health and well-being.

Expected key results

1) developed National Digital Health Strategy;

2) launched Secretariat on Digital Health serving as a hub for coordinating efforts, driving digitalization initiatives, and knowledge sharing;

3) conducted investment case to support evidence-based digital health policy-making based on cost-effectiveness  analysis and  return on investment on healthcare digitalization calculation.
