Brief Description

The "Just Energy Transition in Burkina Faso" programme aims to scale clean cooking solutions through policy development, behavioral change strategies, and innovative pilot projects, promoting sustainability and inclusivity.

The joint programme enhances energy access and promotes sustainable practices in Burkina Faso, focusing on clean cooking and climate resilience. It conducts a clean cooking roadmap to identify energy disparities, develops a Behavior Change Communication Strategy to encourage sustainable energy use among women and youth, and assesses the firewood and charcoal supply chain to propose sustainable solutions. A biogas pilot project demonstrates clean cooking technologies, fostering innovation and gender equity. These actions collectively improve livelihoods, protect ecosystems, and advance Sustainable Development Goals, reaching thousands of beneficiaries and significantly contributing to climate action and food security.
