The joint programme titled 'Mindful Futures' aims to secure sustainable foreign direct investment in education, job creation, and social protection in Bhutan by leveraging the expertise of the United Nations and investment bankers to develop bankable projects and connect them with targeted investors.
Mindful Futures focuses on securing sustainable foreign direct investment (FDI) in education, job creation, and social protection in Bhutan, addressing challenges like outward migration and teacher shortages. The program develops a pipeline of bankable projects in collaboration with the government and private sector, ensuring alignment with Bhutan's development priorities. It designs bespoke financing strategies for high-priority projects and engages targeted investors to secure long-term finance. The initiative aims to benefit approximately 40,000 people, enhancing educational opportunities and social protection for vulnerable groups, ultimately advancing Bhutan's sustainable development goals.
