Factsheet: Accelerating Sustainable Investments for Indonesia’s Future

The ASSIST Joint Programme, supported by the UN Joint SDG Fund, is helping to accelerate investments in Indonesia’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through innovative financing solutions. By bringing together key stakeholders, the programme strengthens the country’s ability to mobilize resources for sustainable development, ensuring that investments contribute to long-term economic growth and social progress.
Through thematic bonds, SDG-linked loans, and the Indonesia Impact Fund, ASSIST channels investment into climate action, water and sanitation, and sustainable marine resource management, while ensuring gender inclusion and support for vulnerable communities. Key components include Thematic Bonds, which support the issuance of sustainable finance instruments at national and subnational levels; Green & SDG-linked Loans, which help banks develop financing solutions for SMEs and sustainable businesses; and the Indonesia Impact Fund (IIF), which mobilizes private capital to scale SDG-aligned startups and impact-driven ventures.
By working closely with public and private partners, the programme fosters a more enabling environment for investment, encouraging the adoption of financial solutions that drive meaningful impact. By promoting innovative investment approaches and strengthening capacity, it paves the way for a more resilient and sustainable future, ensuring that progress towards the SDGs is both inclusive and transformative.
