Decade of Action

The year 2020 kicks off a reaffirmation of our global commitment towards achieving the 2030 agenda. With only 10 years left to deliver the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), it is more important than ever for the global community to mobilise for accelerated action.

To amplify this decade of action, the United Nations will draw on the continued support of local, national and global partners to secure and strengthen existing efforts. The urgency of this decade demands that all sectors of society galvanize to secure greater participation and leadership, more resources and improved, game-changing solutions to address increasing inequality and the escalating climate emergency.

Today, people have greater access to quality healthcare services, education and greater opportunities for decent employment. Yet, inequities, particularly for women and girls, and the growing climate crisis threaten the progress achieved so far. Over the next ten years, we call on the world to fight against these threats to ensure that by 2030 no one is left behind.
